“Dear Mr. Nixon, We spoke briefly in October about a drawing of the Pascagoula being seen on the 11th. Enclosed is the illustration of the fellow. I was able to execute this only after gleaning what info I could from newspaper accounts and a recent T.V. interview. An ABC (TV) artist has done one from a description supplied by one of the men involved. Since I was only able to see it for a minute or so—my drawing may be slightly inaccurate. If it is not in error, please feel free to use it as you wish.”
Anthony Ranfone’s depiction of the Pascagoula alien, 1973. The “Mr. Nixon” is Donald Nixon of the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena.

I stumbled upon this site and I think it’s a great movement! I did a drawing/illustration a while back and I think it might fit in here.
Oh man, your art is GREAT! And this picture is really funny, made me smile big time.
Guys, check this artist out. He’s really great!
The funniest part is that Med’s version of inadequate female fantasy armor is a lot more adequate than most.

Med is amazing.

The description of this illustration is “Class work of drawing a picture to remind people of being friendly with the sea animals. I drew a human hand making promise with an octopus to tell our protection. There is also three children playing happily with the animals.”
I have no interest in “reviewing” this piece, but I like the colorful sea creatures and for some strange reason it took me a very long time to find the third child. The drawing aside, what I like best about this is the description rabbidyuk provides us. It tells us everything we need to know about the drawing: it was done for class and it’s about humans and sea animals being happy together. It’s the second sentence in the description that really gets me.
“I drew a human hand making promise with an octopus to tell our protection.”
Wow. That syntax blows my mind. It almost reads like poetry. It might be the best sentence I’ve read in a long time.
I don’t have a better explanation for why I’m so into that sentence, and in that regard this post is a failure. For that I’m sorry. But maybe read it out loud and then look at the corresponding image. A pinky swear with an octopus?? Who would imagine that? Doesn’t everyone associate octopus tentacles as arms and not fingers? Like, your immediate vision of a promise between a human and an octopus–if you even imagine that far–would be a handshake, right?
Until now, I would never have imagined a “human hand making promise with an octopus” could be something as precious as a pinky swear.
Piece I originally did for the second issue of a magazine called The Insomniac Propagandist, which only had one issue…

Late night sketch of Godzilla with my favorite Godzilla traits, although let’s be fair, it’s mostly based on shin. Shin Godzilla is the best Godzilla. That little dot by his foot on the left is a person for scale. #sketch #godzilla #shingodzilla #creaturedesign #illustration #conceptart @funimation #drawing #art
Like a cross between shin and Showa…
